SPRAGGE RECREATION AREA

The Spragge Recreation Area is located on Old Hydro Road in Spragge.  You are sure to find some enjoyment here no matter what the season and there is plenty of parking available for everyone.

In the winter months you can satisfy your ice-skating and hockey urges on the outdoor rink.  Adjacent to the rink is a fantastic sliding hill that will fire-up your energy and keep you laughing on those brisk winter days.   It is a spot to come out and meet with your family and friends to enjoy games and fun during our wonderful winter season.  There is a direct link from the Recreation Area to the main OFSC snowmobile trail, which runs through our entire Township from Algoma Mills to Serpent River.  This snowmobile trail is one of the best trails in the North.

During the summer months one can enjoy in-line skating and ball hockey on the rink or shoot some hoops on the basketball court.  If you're a tennis enthusiast then the tennis courts will keep you energized and coming back for more.

Hiking can also be enjoyed in the summer on the Wagoosh Hiking Trail which is part of a network of multi-use-trails in our area.  The trail leaves from the east side of the parking area and leads you through a forest of wondrous beauty and wildlife.  Along the trail is a scenic view of the North Channel of Lake Huron, a waterfall, a pond and a small inland lake.  The different varieties of trees, foliage and wildlife will delight everyone that visits.  Come and see the untouched beauty of nature in its entire splendor.
