REGIONAL CLIMATE

The region enjoys four distinct seasons, allowing for year-round outdoor adventures & enjoyment. The warmest average temperature of 19 Celsius occurs during the month of July, and the coldest average temperature of –9 Celsius occurs during the months of January & February. Humidity reaches the extreme during July & August, which can make temperatures rise moderately. During the winter months, the wind-chill factor can make some nights very cold with extreme values reaching –25 to –30 Celsius.

The region is not prone to significant weather disruptions or natural disasters. Thunderstorms tend to be relatively weak and short-lived. Winter weather is easy to accommodate: ice storms are infrequent as are extremely heavy snowfalls. The region is superbly equipped to deal with winter weather, so transportation or communication disruptions are insignificant.
